Disclosed is an optical glass exhibiting excellent chemical durability, while having such optical constants as a refractive index of 1.45-1.65 and an Abbe number of not less than 65. Specifically disclosed is a phosphate optical glass characterized by containing, in mass%, the following glass components. P2O5: 73-85%, Al2O3: 14-26%, K2O + Li2O: 1-12%, SiO2: 0-12%, B2O3: 0-12%, Na2O: 0-12%, Y2O3: 0-12%, La2O3: 0-12%, MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO: 0-12%, ZrO2 + TiO2 + Gd2O3: 0-10%, Ta2O5 + GeO2 + Ga2O3 + Nb2O5 + WO3 + TeO2: 0-10%, Sb2O3: 0-2%, and ZnO + PbO: 0-12%.
