<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method monitoring angular velocity in effective interval until proof mass reaches natural resonance frequency of the vibration in order to supply further rapid input to an inertial measurement unit. <P>SOLUTION: A signal processor 303 for a MEMS gyroscope comprises a motor pick off input section for receiving a motor pick off signal from the MEMS gyroscope 100, a sensing pick off input section for receiving a sensing pick off signal from the MEMS gyroscope, a phase comparator 309 for determining a phase angle in order to form the phase angle by relating the sensing pick off signal to the motor pick off signal, an amplitude comparator 312 for determining the amplitude of the sensing pick off signal, and a switch network 315 for responding to the completion of the effective interval. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
