PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape drive capable of recording error logs without completely losing the error logs by hierarchizing a nonvolatile memory as a recording method of the error logs. SOLUTION: The magnetic tape drive is provided which can record the error logs into a hierarchized nonvolatile memory built in the magnetic tape drive and therefore can record all the error status at high speed in the occurrence of the errors and enables the error occurrence status to be quickly and easily analyzed.
