NEUTRON DETECTION DEVICE AND ITS USING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron detection device having high time resolution. SOLUTION: This device has a neutron detection element 2 having a substrate, a strip line constituted of a superconducting material provided on the substrate surface, and electrode parts provided respectively on both ends of the strip line; a detection circuit 3 for outputting a signal showing a change of a resistance value of the strip line in the neutron detection element 2; a power source 4 for supplying a prescribed target bias current to the neutron detection element 2; and a temperature control device 5 for performing temperature control of the neutron detection element 2 by using a temperature in a temperature domain wherein a resistance change to a temperature change is largest as a target temperature, in a resistance-temperature characteristic in the target bias current of the neutron detection element 2.
