PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet apparatus which can sufficiently perform an anti-thickening operation for properly maintaining the property of ejection of a liquid droplet even if a thickened state of meniscus of a liquid is uneven. SOLUTION: This liquid jet apparatus is equipped with a head member 4 with a nozzle opening 17. The liquid of the nozzle opening 17 can be jet by a liquid jet means. Thickening of the liquid of the nozzle opening 17 is recovered by a recovery means. The recovery means is a flushing means for performing flushing processing for continuously ejecting the liquid of the nozzle opening 17 as microdroplets. The meniscus of the liquid, which is formed in the nozzle opening 17, is made to greatly recede by the flushing means immediately before each of the microdroplets of the liquid is ejected, and control is so performed that the microdroplets can be ejected from a central part of the meniscus.
