PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized Coriolis type mass flowmeter. SOLUTION: The Coriolis type mass flowmeter 1 comprises a flow tube 3, at least one position sensor 11a, or 11b provided with a light source and with a photodetector receiving the light from the light source, and magnet yokes 6, 7, 8, and 12 by which the flow tube 3 is moved to an axis. The flow tube 3 between the light source and the photodetector is movable without contact for the light source and the photodetector on the above light path. A first screen with a first light-transmitting opening is placed at the side of the light source, and a second screen with a second light-transmitting opening is placed at the side of the photodetector, wherein the first and the second openings are identical and are counter arranged, and wherein the openings are mutually parallel and aligned on the light path to form a columnar light beam on the photodetector.
