PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting holding furnace control device capable of reducing a space necessary for installing a melting holding furnace. SOLUTION: This melting holding furnace control device for controlling the melting holding furnace 30 comprising a melting furnace 31 producing molten bath 36 by melting a metallic material 44 including a new material 43 and a returned material 42 recovered from a casting machine 40 installed in a post-process, and a holding furnace 33 holding the molten bath 36 and supplying the same to the casting machine 40, has a new material supply portion 12 for supplying the new material 43 to the melting furnace 31, a returned material supply portion 16 for recovering the returned material 42 and supplying the same to the melting furnace 31, and a control portion 10 for controlling the supply of the new material 43 at the new material supply portion 12 so that the returned material 42 can be smoothly supplied to the melting furnace 31.
