PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging element and imaging apparatus using the same in which a pixel state can be read in an arbitrary region from a MOS-type image sensor without increasing a circuit scale. SOLUTION: The start pulse (1127) of a shift register circuit is connected to reset circuits (1116, 1119, 1120, ...) of all boot strap capacitors of respective stage circuits and the period of the start pulse (1127) of the shift register circuit is controlled, thereby controlling a sensor part scan starting position and a scan ending position due to the shift register circuit.
