[PROBLEMS] To prevent a vehicle occupant from, at overturn, slipping through an interspace between inferior part of chamber and side door window and flying outside the vehicle. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] There is provided curtain airbag device (1) comprising an inflator and airbag (2) composed of multiple chambers (4a-4f) adapted to be supplied, through duct (5), with a gas jetted from the inflator and inflate and deploy between the head (Ph) of occupant (P) and the inside surface of vehicle interior. Under the airbag (2), there is installed extensible member (7), for example, a net. Further, tether (8) is installed for imparting a tension in the anteroposterior direction of the vehicle to the extensible member (7). [EFFECT] In the danger of slipping of vehicle occupant through an interspace between inferior part of chamber and side door window, the extensible member deploys so as to prevent the vehicle occupant from flying out.
