An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to enhance not only the contrast ratio and but also to have the wide viewing angle by means of a phase shift film and a C-plate. A liquid crystal cell(130) controls the transmittance of the external light beam by applying voltage. A side of biaxial compensating film(210) is attached at a side of the liquid crystal cell so that the viewing angle is compensated. A C-plate(220) is attached at the other side of the liquid crystal cell so that the transmittance of the liquid crystal cell according to the viewing angle is compensated. A reflection plate(140) is attached at least a portion of a side of the C-plate and reflects the external light beam. A polarizing film is attached at the other side of the biaxial compensating film. The delay value of the liquid crystal layer used to the liquid crystal is 1/4 of the wavelength of the external light. The biaxial compensating film converts the wavelength of the external light into 1/2 wavelength. |
