PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a vehicle radar apparatus for detecting an abnormality or a failure based on at least one of a temperature sensor and an antenna control system, and eliminating a degradation in the reliability. SOLUTION: The vehicle radar apparatus 1 is provided with: a storage means for storing a temperature map for mapping a target angleθand a target current value I at a plurality of temperatures; a processing section 8 for reading the target current value I corresponding to the target temperatureθfrom the temperature map for mapping the temperatures detected the temperature sensor 5, and providing the target current value I to the antenna control system; and a failure determining means 9 for detecting a deviation between the target current value I and an actual current value supplied to an actuator, and determining the abnormality or the failure if the deviation is a predetermined value or more. The vehicle radar apparatus 1 detects the abnormality or the failure based on at least one of the temperature sensor 5 and the antenna control system, and prevents its own reliability from being degraded.
