<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin optical laminated body in which refractive index is three-dimensionally controlled. <P>SOLUTION: The optical laminated body 1 has a phase difference layer 2 which contains a polycyclic compound having at least one of -SO<SB>3</SB>M group and -COOM group (where, M represents an ion pair) and in which refractive index ellipsoidal body satisfies a relation of nx>nz>ny, and a phase difference layer 3 in which refractive index ellipsoidal body satisfies a relation of nx≥ny>nz.
