<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a suitable communication state with a frequency hopping multiplex system. <P>SOLUTION: A radio base station compares a plurality of hopping pattern information indicative of a hopping pattern from a plurality of radio communication apparatuses, and generates collision information indicative of whether hopping patterns are colliding among each radio communication apparatus. Each radio communication apparatus receives a OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplex) signal from the radio base station and transmits a FH (frequency hopping) signal to the radio base station. At the radio communication apparatus, an estimation means 15 estimates a propagation path response, based on the signal received from the radio base station. A selection means 16 selects a plurality of sub channels, having a value for the propagation path response which is larger than some value. A determination means 17 determines a hopping pattern from the plurality of sub channels. A transmission means 21 transmits a hopping pattern information indicative of the hopping pattern, to the radio base station. A reception means 18 receives the collision information from the radio base station.
