PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable pedestrians around a vehicle to know the presence or approach of the vehicle while avoiding providing the sense of discomfort to the pedestrians. SOLUTION: This alarm device comprises one or more speakers disposed in a vehicle, one or more microphones disposed in the vehicle and absorbing environmental sound therearound, and a control unit which when the traveling speed of the vehicle is equal to or higher than a predetermined threshold, performs a first processing for storing the waveform data on the environmental sound absorbed by one or more microphones and when the traveling speed is less than the threshold, reads out the stored waveform data and performs a second processing for supplying the sound signal according to the waveform data to one or more speakers. The control unit comprises a pitch converting part for more reducing the pitch of the sound signal supplied to one or more speakers as the traveling speed is lower. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
