FIELD: engines and pumps. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pump production and can be used in operating the pumps and pumping stations. The proposed method consists in plotting several additional pump "inlet-outlet" curves for reduced pump impeller rpm in selected operating range, apart from the initial hydraulic circuit characteristics. Then, a general common curve describing the various pump impeller rpm and shifted towards outlet pressure 2 to 3% increase exceeding the designed values is plotted through the points of intersection of the aforesaid "inlet-outlet" curves with the curve of head loss in water lines and in parallel to the latter. Now, the pump can be changed over to operation at new rpm. ^ EFFECT: lower power consumption in operating the pumping stations. ^ 2 dwg
