PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drawing method and a droplet discharge device which can accurately control a discharge amount. SOLUTION: In the drawing method, drawing is carried out by discharging a functional liquid as droplets 37 from a plurality of nozzles 31 of a droplet discharge head 15 to a substrate 8. A discharge method comprises a preliminary discharge process for discharging the droplets 37 from the nozzles 31 to a flushing unit 18, and a drawing process for discharging the droplets 37 from the nozzles 31 to the substrate 8. In the preliminary discharge process, discharge of the droplets 37 is carried out so that the number of times of discharging the droplets 37 from the nozzles 31 at high temperatures is larger than that from the nozzles 31 at low temperatures.
