APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR HEATING HEAT SHRINKABLE CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for heating a heat shrinkable tube wherein an electric wire and a heat shrinkable tube put on the electric wire can be easily placed in position on the heating apparatus and the heat shrinkable tube can be evenly shrunk.

SOLUTION: The heating apparatus 1 for heat shrinkable tubes 5 is so constructed that: a heat shrinkable tube 5 is put on an electric wire terminal 4 at which a core wire 3 constructed of a conductor 36 and a covering layer 37 is protruded from the sheath 2 of an electric wire C and thermally shrunk to seal the area between the sheath 2 and the core wire 3 with the heat shrinkable tube 5. The heating apparatus includes: an electric wire supporting means 6 for supporting an end of the core wire 3 to hold the electric wire terminal 4 in the vertical position; a heat shrinkable tube supporting means 7 for supporting the lower end of a heat shrinkable tube 5 put on the electric wire terminal 4; and a heating means 8 for heating the heat shrinkable tube 5 supported by the heat shrinkable tube supporting means 7.
