A rotation output device having a locking mechanism capable of locking an output shaft without relying on inertia force or rotation of the output shaft by an operator. The rotation output device (10) has an output gear (31) for inputting rotational drive force, a locking ring (33) whose rotation is fixed, an output ring (32) co-rotating with a spindle (3), a click spring (38) for rotating the output ring (32) relative to the output gear (31), a float gear (34) held by the output ring (32), urged radially outward, and capable of being engaged and fixed to the locking ring (33), and a center pin through-hole (32e) and a side pin through-hole (32g) that are provided in the output ring (32) and release the float gear (34) radially outward, causing it to be engaged and fixed to the locking ring (33). When rotational drive is stopped, the click spring (38) causes the relative rotation of the output ring (32). |
