<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polymer electrolyte membrane in which proton conductivity of the polymer electrolyte membrane can be improved without a process wherein the polymer electrolyte membrane obtained is heated in the water or under saturated steam. <P>SOLUTION: [1] In the manufacturing method of the polymer electrolyte membrane by application of a solvent solution containing the polymer electrolyte by flow casting to a base material and by removing the solvent, the removal of the solvent is carried out under a temperature of 80°C or lower and under a humidified atmosphere.
