<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which shortens a throughput time when a roll paper printing job and a cut paper printing job are mixedly inputted, in the image forming apparatus which can automatically feed and switch roll paper and cut paper, and also to provide its control method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus with the function of automatic feeding and switching of the roll paper and cut paper has a detecting means which detects that a roll paper printing job and a cut paper printing job are mixedly inputted. When the detecting means detects that roll paper printing jobs and cut paper printing jobs are mixedly inputted, the printing jobs are collected by every roll paper printing job and by every cut paper printing job.
