A method for manufacturing artificial marble chips is provided to have a simple production process, be economical without going via many steps, and produce beautiful artificial marble by using a spontaneous mixing of resin compositions having different specific gravities. A method for manufacturing artificial marble chips includes the steps of: (a) preparing at least two resin compositions having a specific gravity difference of 0.005-0.2 by mixing 100 parts by weight of an unsaturated polyester-based resin syrup or acrylic resin syrup, 80-200 parts by weight of an inorganic filler, 0.1-3.0 parts by weight of a polymerization initiator, 0.3-5.0 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent, and 0.01-7 parts by weight of a colorant, respectively; (b) subjecting the respective resin compositions to vacuum-deaeration; (c) charging the resin compositions into a molding device in order of low specific gravity, thereby mixing the resin compositions spontaneously by specific gravity difference to prepare an artificial marble composition; (d) molding the artificial marble composition into a predetermined shape and curing the molded material; and (e) grinding the molded material into powder having an average particle size of 0.1-15 mm. Further, a step of separating the manufactured chips classified by size after the step(e) is additionally comprised in the method for manufacturing artificial marble chips.
