PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device and a supply method of the reproducing device capable of rapidly starting the operation of a hard disk drive and also extending the service life of a battery simultaneously. SOLUTION: The reproducing device comprises: a recording part for recording information in a magnetic disk C; a motor for rotating the magnetic disk; a nonvolatile memory B for recording information in a recording region, a display part for displaying information on a screen; a reproducing part receiving information and performing reproduction process; and a control part for controlling so that speed of the motor is increased stepwise for the prescribed time after receiving an operation signal from an operation part, information stored in the nonvolatile memory is supplied to the display part or the reproducing part, and the motor is rotated with constant speed after elapsing of the prescribed time.
