PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a care receiver absence detector capable of detecting a care receiver's motion of leaving a bed/chair and informing a caregiver of the motion when the caregiver is caring for the carereceiver. SOLUTION: The detector includes a sheet-like sensor part 12 to be high-resistant with no load and low-resistant with a human body 11 thereon, an load sense part 13 to compare an output signal from the sheet-like sensor part 12 with a settable standard signal value, to detect the sheet-like sensor part 12 running, and to output a detection signal, an alarm device 14 to output an annunciation signal for informing the motion of the human body 11 in response to the detection signal, a disconnection sense part 15 to detect an electric current passing through the sheet-like sensor part 12 at any time and to send an alarm signal to the alarm device 14 when the sheet-like sensor part 12 is defective, and an power source part 40. The load sense part 13 is provided with a signal switching means 32 to switch the sense signal depending on the load sensed by the sheet-like sensor part 12 being more/less than the load determined by the standard signal value.
