Method for erasing a printing plate

The method involves moving a form cylinder that carries a printing form during erasing. A main erasing step is executed during running out of the form cylinder after the completion of a printing order, and another main erasing step is executed for which the form cylinder is driven after the running out of the form cylinder. A surface of the printing form is erased during the former main clearing step. Printing ink and pictorial polymer are removed from the surface of the printing form, where the cylinder rotates with a high peripheral speed during running out of the cylinder.
