PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily update a program by using a portable storage medium. SOLUTION: This information processor is provided with processing means 11a to 11f for executing job processing; a program storage means 12 for storing a control program for controlling the operations of the processing means 11a to 11f; and a medium mounting means 13 mounted with a portable storage medium 20. This information processor is provided with a version comparing means 14a for comparing the versions of a control program stored by the portable storage medium 20 and a control program stored by the program storage means 12 by using the mounting of the portable storage medium 20 on the medium mounting means 13 as a trigger and a program updating means 14b for rewriting the old version of the control program between the control programs as the object of comparison of the version comparing means 14a by using the new version of the control program based on the comparison result of the version comparing means 14a.
