<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method useful for the culture of a stem cell such as an embryonic stem cell (an ES cell). <P>SOLUTION: The method for culturing the stem cell includes treating the stem cell in a medium with a ROCK inhibitor. The cell preparation contains the dispersed stem cells and the ROCK inhibitor. The stem cell-culturing agent contains the ROCK inhibitor. The combination (e. g. a composition and a kit) contains the ROCK inhibitor and other constituent elements. The serum-free medium contains the ROCK inhibitor. The culture system contains the stem cells and the ROCK inhibitor in a medium.
