METHOD FOR PRODUCING PROPYLENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing propylene in a high yield by using a small amount of a raw material while suppressing the deterioration of a catalyst in the method for producing the propylene by reacting a ≥4C olefin raw material with methanol and/or dimethyl ether in the presence of the catalyst.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the propylene by catalytically reacting the ≥4C olefin with the methanol and/or the dimethyl ether in the presence of the catalyst in a reactor includes extracting at least a part of aromatic compounds contained in a gas (a reactor outlet gas) flowing out from the reactor outlet, and bringing a part of the ≥4C olefin contained in the reactor outlet gas into contact with the catalyst again in the reactor. The total of the aromatic compounds contained in the raw material fed to the reactor is preferably <0.05 in a molar ratio based on the total amount of the ≥4C olefin contained in the raw material.
