<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce its size and weight, by starting an engine without a battery, in an engine system. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power supply device 3 for starting has an injector 6 controlled by an electronic control unit 10, and is mounted on the engine system without a battery for supplying required electric power by an alternator when driving the engine 2, and has a fuel cell 30 and an electric double layer capacitor 33 connected in parallel to this fuel cell. The fuel cell 30 generates electric power in the predetermined timing, and stores the electric power in the electric double layer capacitor 33.
