A hair extending and/or thickening method, using strands (1) of foreign hairs with one end inserted in polyurethane (PU) strips (2), involves (a) applying a first strip (plus hair) to one side of a natural hair strand of the wearer, (b) applying a second strip to the other side of the strand, giving a sandwich arrangement of the natural strand between the strips and (c) bonding the two strip (with the strand in between) using cold adhesive. Independent claims are included for: (1) a strand (1) of foreign hairs for use in the process, having one end of each hair cast into a PU strip (2); and (2) the production of the strips, by casting one end of each hair into liquid PU and allowing the PU to harden in the form of a flexible strip.
