The present invention provides an electronic control panel for testing a fire sprinkler system. The electronic control panel comprisses a flow/pressure or other sensing device that monitors flow of suppressant material within the fire sprinkler system when the suppressant material is allowed to flow through the system, and a solenoid valve located in the sprinkler system after the flow/pressure or other sensing device. The electronic control panel is programmed to test the sprinkler system at periodic intervals by sequentially: controlling the solenoid valve to open, thereby allowing suppressant material to escape there through, the solenoid valve to close after a time period has elapsed and if the electronic control panel receives no signal or an inappropriate signal during a test a system failure alarm is activated. The controller is also arranged to test smoke evacuation vents and associated extraction fan and further includes battery back-up. A fire sprinkler system containing the electronic control panel is also provided. |
