<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which is capable of maintaining excellent developer stirring and conveying properties by preventing the circulation of developer from stopping so as not to degrade image quality, even when flowability of the developer is reduced due to a change in a temperature and humidity environment and the deterioration of the developer. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device has a stirring and conveying member which is rotatably disposed in a housing and stirs and conveys the developer and a developing roller which carries the developer stirred and conveyed by the stirring and conveying member on the surface thereof and guides the developer to a photoreceptor. In the developing device, the stirring and conveying member is composed of a first stirring and conveying member which supplies the developer to the developing roller and a second stirring and conveying member which mixes the developer with the developer replenished from a replenishing section and conveys the developer to the first stirring and conveying member and the lower housing is driven with respect to the upper housing to adjust the gap amount between the lower housing and the stirring and conveying member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
