<p>An evaporator (1) has two rows of heat exchange tube groups (16), of which each is composed of heat exchange tubes (15), arranged between a pair of headers (2, 3) with a spacing in the front-rear direction. Each header tank (2, 3) has two header sections (5, 6, 11, 12), a first member (21, 93) to which the heat exchange tubes (15) are connected, and a second member (22, 94) joined to the first member (21, 93) and covering that portion of the first member (21, 93) that is on the opposite side of the heat exchange tubes (15). A partition section (41, 42) for partitioning each header section (5, 6, 11, 12) into two vertically arranged spaces (5a, 5b, 6a, 6b) is provided at the second member (22, 94) of each header tank (2, 3). Through-holes (47, 51A, 101, 102) for interconnecting the two vertically arranged spaces (5a, 5b, 6a, 6b) in each header section (5, 6, 11, 12) are formed in the partition sections (41, 42). The second members (22, 94) are formed by bending metal sheets. The evaporator (1) has a reduced number of parts and is easily produced.</p> |
