<p>Optical waveguides (11, 12) are formed on a substrate (10), a thin film (13) having an optical refractive index lower than that of the optical waveguides (11, 12) is formed on the surface of the substrate, and a surface acoustic wave guide (16) is formed on the thin film (13) to pass through the optical waveguides (11, 12) obliquely. Since the optical waveguides (11, 12) are not affected directly by the position of an SAW waveguide (16) to keep phase matching conditions of the optical waveguide invariant, the sidelobe characteristics of an optical filter are not worsened by SAW intensity weighting.</p> |
