PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a client device control program capable of preventing leakage of communication information when communication is performed between a server device as an FTP server and a client device as an FTP client via a general-purpose network. SOLUTION: A resident application generates a handle acquisition command and transmits [1] the handle acquisition command to an MFP 1. The handle acquisition command is a command to notify the MFP 1 of the public key (client key: constituted of 16 bytes) of a PC 20 for performing encryption, and to request for the transmission of the handle name of the MFP 1 and the public key of the server. The MFP 1, when it receives the handle acquisition command, transmits [2] the handle name and the server key to the PC 20.
