<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical touch panel that can identify the contact position of an operator's finger in each direction of on horizontal and vertical directions by means of a single optical sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A light emission device 11 has a matrix of pixels, and a transparent resin layer 12 is on an upper surface of the light emission device 11. An optical sensor 13 for outputting a voltage depending on the quantity of light received is at an end of the transparent resin layer 12. A light emission control part 16 causes the pixels belonging to the same row to emit light in succession on a row basis. The output voltage of the optical sensor 13, which is amplified by an amplifier 14, is input into a position computation part 15. The position computation part 15 determines that a finger is in contact with the array position of the pixel caused to emit light by the light emission control part 16 when the output voltage increases over a predetermined threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
