Walking aid of the crutch or walking stick type, comprising a bent tube (1), a handle (2) joined to the said bent tube (1), and a part in the shape of an arc of a circle (3) fixed to the upper end (17) of the said bent tube (1). The bent tube (1) has a vertical lower part (10) having a diameter greater than that of its oblique upper part (11), the reduction in diameter between these two parts being effected in the area of an intermediate part (13) by means of a lower truncated cone (14) and an upper truncated cone (16) which are separated by a cylindrical section (15) and permitting the passage and the forced locking of a single-piece handle (2) consisting of a tube (20), at least one end part (21) of which has a diameter greater than that of the vertical part (10) of the bent tube (1) and is drilled with two opposite holes (22, 23), the upper hole (22) being of a diameter slightly smaller than that of the intermediate cylindrical section (15) of the bent tube (1), and the lower orifice (23) being of a diameter slightly smaller than that of the vertical part (10) of the bent tube (1). <IMAGE>
