The unit (1) has a set of n light sources, which are arranged in matrix form, and a signal function represented depending on operating conditions of the sources. A light surface area of the unit is provided with a number of sources that are arranged adjacent to each other, where the area is represented by changing the conditions of the sources in a dynamically moved manner. The function is characterized in two different directions by moving the area. The area is characterized with a light gauge by a series in particular a vertical series of activated light sources. An independent claim is also included for a method for representation of a signal function of a vehicle by a light unit, in particular rear light, with a majority of n light sources. |
