PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a deviation of a droplet hitting point accurately and simply calculating a positional deviation of the droplet hitting point. SOLUTION: A plurality of ink droplets are respectively delivered from a delivering part to form a plurality of the droplet hitting points on a recording medium. An image composed of the droplet hitting points formed on the recording medium are read as a read image to read in the image, and by performing image processing of the read-in image, the central positions of respective droplet hitting points are calculated as information on the positions of the droplet hitting points. The information on the positions of the droplet hitting points is classified on every delivering part delivering respective droplet hitting points as the classified information on the positions of the droplet hitting points. From the classified information on the positions of the droplet hitting points, an approximate straight line connecting a plurality of the droplet hitting points delivered from one delivering part is calculated on every delivering part by making the inclination of the approximate straight line common.
