<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing box of a measuring instrument etc, where an engagement between a box main body and a lid is never released even if an external force or a solar heat is applied to the side walls of the box main body. <P>SOLUTION: The housing box is composed of a box main body A, which is fixed to a laid power supply pole (fixed body) P, and a lid D joined to the box main body A by hinges to stop up the opening 1 of the box main body A. An engaged part 15 and an engaging pawl (engaging part) 24, which are engaged with each other to keep the stoppage of the opening 1 of the box main body A with the lid D, are provided to the box main body A and the lid D respectively.
