<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device capable of suppressing an excessive rise in internal pressure at an initial stage of inflation in an air bag without suppressing the outburst of the air bag from a storage portion. <P>SOLUTION: In the air bag device, the air bag 24 is provided with a bag body 25; and an auxiliary bag 26 for pushing and opening a door 19 of an air bag cover 16. A second inflator 29 for feeding an inflation gas into the bag body 25 is provided with a first gas feed part and a second gas feed part. The first gas feed part is set to be operable prior to the operation of the second gas feed part, and is set so that the supplied mass of the inflation gas to the bag body 25 is made smaller than that of the inflation gas to the bag body 25 of the second gas feed part. The first inflator 10 for feeding the inflation gas into the auxiliary bag 26 is set to be operated when the first gas feed part is operated prior to the second gas feed part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
