PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device having a structure which can smoothly guide sheets while preventing the sheets from getting wrinkled, without causing complication in structure. SOLUTION: The sheet carrying device has a nip part N constituted of a roller 11A disposed to at lease one side and a member 11B abutted with the roller, so as to nip and carry a sheet. The sheet carrying device has an inlet guide member 100 disposed on a front side of the nip part. The inlet guide member 100 has a projection part 100B disposed at the center in a sheet width direction in a surface on which a sheet moves and projecting in a direction pushing up the center in sheet width direction. In the projection part 100B, a relationship of an angleθ2 made by an asymptotic line and an axis of the roller, and an angleθ1 of a curve from a width direction end part of sheet, which enters into the nip part, to the center part, isθ1≈θ2.
