<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image sensor which has photoelectric conversion elements disposed while taking influence of variance in sensitivity characteristic thereof into consideration for a driving circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The color image sensor has, on a substrate, photoelectric conversion elements 3 each having a photoelectric conversion layer, formed of an organic compound layer, between an anode and a cathode and disposed in columns by predetermined colors of photoelectric conversion, an IC chip 4 which detects output based upon a signal current generated by a photoelectric conversion element 3 and reads its signal charges out, and a wiring 5 connecting the photoelectric conversion elements 3 and IC chip 4. The photoelectric conversion elements 3 are provided such that a photoelectric conversion element 3 having the smaller product of I and α among the photoelectric conversion elements 3 of respective colors is at a distance from the IC chip 4 while having a larger photoelectric conversion area, where I is the maximum illumination (lux) of light incident on a photoelectric conversion element 3 of each color and α is the sensitivity [volt/(lux hour)]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
