Carbonization of scrap rubber products for recovery of oil, metal and carbon granules involves drying, heating in reactor and removing oil before cooling and separating recyclable materials. Tires or vehicle chain drive units coated in or bonded to rubber are preheated to 30 deg C in a drying chamber and then loaded into a reactor. The reactor is heated to 450 deg C over 60 minutes and held at this temperature for 2.5 hours. Gas from carbonization flows upwards out of the reactor through a sealed pipe system and is cooled to 20-25 deg C. After separation of the cooling system and reactor the latter is moved back to the drying chamber where it remains until the outer wall has cooled to 25-30 deg C and material separation is possible.
|
