An electronic device, a control method thereof, and a recording medium for storing a control program thereof in computer readable type are provided to have a display function on a rotatable and/or opening/closing-ability case unit, thereby usefully utilizing display capability in horizontal direction of a horizontally long screen as improving functionality and/or operability. An electronic device(2) having a display function on an opening/closing-ability and/or rotatable case unit comprises as follows. A display(18) displays a vertical screen or a horizontal screen. When document information or information including documents is displayed on the display, a controller(90) sets a displayable display blank(document display blank) of overall horizontal width of the horizontal screen on the horizontal screen, and displays the information in the display blank.
