PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a totallized frequency generating method employing a multi-mode, and a laser apparatus used as a laser beam source for generating this totallized frequency. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a laser beam source 200 for generating a fundamental wave 1 having a wavelength of 244 nm; a laser beam source 300 for generating a fundamental wave 2 having a wavelength of 1,064 nm different from the above wavelength by using a multi-mode light; an external resonator 400 for capturing the fundamental wave 1 generated from the laser beam source 200, and resonating the fundamental wave 1; a non-linear crystal 600 provided in the external resonator 400; and an external resonator 500 capturing the fundamental wave 2 generated from the laser beam source 300 to resonate the fundamental wave 2, and arranged so that the captured fundamental wave 2 may pass the non-linear crystal 600.
