PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable temporary water storage system, by easily removing foreign matter accumulated in the vicinity of a drain port of an excessive water delivery pipe, even without securing a space inspectable when a person enters. SOLUTION: This temporary water storage system has a water storage tank for storing flowing-down water including rainwater, and a discharge means for discharging the flowing-down water stored in this water storage tank. The discharge means has a discharge tank adjacently arranged to the water storage tank and having an inspection cover in an upper part, the excessive water delivery pipe having an opening arranged on one end communicating with the water storage tank, having the other end part facing in the discharge tank in a state of blocking up the other end and bored with a drain hole for draining water in the discharge tank while regulating the flowing-down water flowed in a bottom surface from the inside of the storage tank to a predetermined quantity or less, a discharge pipe for discharging the flowing-down water in the discharge tank, and a guide cylinder of a drain hole cleaning bar arranged so that a lower opening faces just above the drain hole in the excessive water delivery pipe and an upper opening faces a reverse surface of the inspection cover.
