<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily record or reproduce a plurality of optical recording media. <P>SOLUTION: When first to third optical recording media 1-3 are selectively recorded or reproduced, a first laser beam L1 having a wavelength λ1 of about 405 nm is condensed like a spot on the first optical recording medium (BD) 1 by a first objective lens 23. When the first laser beam L1 is condensed like the spot on the second optical recording medium (HD-DVD) 2 by a second objective lens 28, a first collimator lens 14 movably provided on an optical axis OA of the first laser beam L1 is moved by a prescribed amount along the optical axis OA of the first laser beam L1 according to respective substrate thicknesses of the first and second optical recording media 1, 2 to correct spherical aberration for the first and second optical recording media 1, 2. Further, a second laser beam L2 having a wavelength λ2 about 660 nm is condensed like a spot on the third optical recording medium (DVD) 3 by the second objective lens 28.
