PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert a downloaded pictographic image into the message of electronic mail by a simple operation. SOLUTION: An image data receiving part 11 receives image data from a content server 20, and a size decision part 12 decides whether or not the longitudinal size×lateral size of the received image data is 20×20 dots, and a pictographic image storage part 13 stores the image data in a pictographic image file 19 when it is decided that the longitudinal size×lateral size of the image data is 20×20 dots, and a pictogrpahic image display part 14 reads a pictographic image stored in the pictogrpahic image file 19 according to the list display instruction of the pictogrpahic image, and displays the read pictographic image as a list on a display screen, and a pictographic image insertion part 15 inserts a pictographic image into the cursor position of the message input screen of electronic mail according to the selection decision instruction of the pictographic image.
