<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus for creating fusion images by which abnormal sites such as polyps and calcified regions are easily found by superimposing a virtual endoscopic image on an abnormal site discriminating image. <P>SOLUTION: The medical image diagnostic apparatus creates the fusion image by superimposing the virtual endoscopic image on a summation image which is the abnormal site discriminating image as viewed from a virtual endoscopic image display position to create the virtual endoscopic image and displays to discriminate the abnormal site from a normal site, and displays the fusion image on a monitor. The abnormal sites such as polyps are easily found by creating the summation image, and the anatomic location of the abnormal position is easily understood by superposing the virtual endoscopic image viewed from the same observing point on the summation image.
