PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of readily producing desired disaccharide in a short process, a large amount and good efficiency without producing an unnecessary by-product by using an inexpensive substrate. SOLUTION: The method for producing the disaccharide comprises decomposing an oligosaccharide into a monosaccharide product and a monosaccharide-1-phosphoric acid in the presence of phosphoric acid and oligosaccharide phosphorylase, converting the monosaccharide product to a polysaccharide by a coexistent polysaccharide-producing bacterium, binding a monosaccharide raw material other than the monosaccharide product to the monosaccharide-1-phosphoric acid by the oligosaccharide phosphorylase and eliminating and regenerating the phosphoric acid. In the production method, the polysaccharide can be regenerated to the oligosaccharide by making the polysaccharide decomposing enzyme coexist. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
